Bio:  Kip Sperry teaches family history and American and LDS genealogical research methods and sources. He also serves as supervisor of the BYU student Family History Lab and is the family history area coordinator for Religious Education. Kip was born in Chardon, Geauga County, Ohio, and joined the LDS Church in Kansas City, Missouri. Kip holds a graduate degree (Library and Information Science), two undergraduate degrees in American genealogy from BYU, and was presented the Richard Lloyd Anderson Research Award from BYU in 2003. He formerly worked at the Family History Library and the Church History Library in Salt Lake City. He is author of books, chapters, and journal articles, and has lectured at national, regional, and local family history conferences and seminars. His national awards include Fellow, American Society of Genealogists; Fellow, National Genealogical Society; and Fellow, Utah Genealogical Association; among others. Kip is married to Elisabeth Anne Pearson and they have one son, Daniel Kip Sperry, MD, who graduated with his medical degree from the State University of New York, Upstate Medical University, Syracuse, New York, specializes in family medicine, and is a resident physician at McKay-Dee Hospital Center in Ogden, Utah.
